First, let your kiddo paint freely with watercolors. I used a big roll of paper so we had lots of little sections to work with later.
Once it’s dry, take a photo of the artwork (nothing fancy, just good lighting)
Upload it into Canva and start cropping out little pieces of the painting.
I made mine into hearts but you can do any shape you want. Then just arrange them into a design!
Print your design onto sublimation paper using sublimation ink.
Place it onto your mug and press it with a mug press or heat press.
That’s it! You just turned their artwork into something you’ll actually keep forever🤍
Quick heads up-
To get that super smooth, permanent finish like mine, you do need a sublimation setup.
But here’s the hack-
you don’t need a fancy sublimation printer! I use an Epson EcoTank and fill it with sublimation ink from the start and it works the exact same.
If you don’t have that, you can still do a version of this.
print it on waterproof vinyl and stick it onto a mug or use iron on transfer paper for fabric. It’s not quite as permanent, but still really special.
