What a wonderful week, and experience we've had here at the Powderhorn Ranch this week. We came to their semi annual ranch horse sale and are coming home with 2 great mounts.

Congrats to Jen on her purchase of Maverick, from Mr Bo**er Brown. This little horse sure is handy, and handsome to boot!

Also, a big congrats to the Surdi's on their purchase of Clancy. This amazing guy is going to be such a wonderful addition to your family's herd.

So we decided to do a thing this year that actually started last year... thanks Nick Heaton for adding us to your bee bunch 🐝! We've started with Mason bees here on the farm and they're just so wonderful. Also, a big thank you to Julie Campbell for introducing me to Shea with Farmer Frogs who helped add more little fuzzy guys to our mason bee population ❤️

We are so excited to start offering the Equifuse line of products here at R&J Horsemanship. We have been using them here for a couple of years now and just find them to be a superior product compared to what we find at both local & national chain feed stores.

Sooo... last year I started doing cold plunges and loved the health benefits. Yes, I know it's a ranch set up, but it works 😉. On average I would do an 8 to 10 minute plunge every morning.

Somehow over the later summer months heading into fall, I got out of the habit. So I made a decision last week that I was plunging back in (see what I did there?)! We set up the tank on Friday afternoon, and started back up Saturday morning.

This morning was a huge mental challenge thanks to mother nature. There was maybe a couple inches of snow and a thin layer of ice 🧊 just taunting me, causing me to ask myself if i really wanted to do this this morning. Had to fix my drive and persevered in the end... I did it... 6 minutes in the tank!

All I have to say is thank goodness for layers, mittens and warm house slippers 🥶 🧊 ☃️

Nothing like a good horse camping trip with the R&J team to one of our favorite annual clinics with Craig Cameron 💕 horses fed, coffee on by 6:30, and bacon & eggs on the menu this morning before we gear up for another day of 9-5 riding.
