Kindred Acres Growing food, building soil, and proving nature usually knows what she’s doing. Together, we can build a healthier, more sustainable future.

Veteran-owned farm offering permaculture design, regenerative gardening education, naturally grown plants, and practical solutions for working with the land. Located in Clayton, NC, just south of Raleigh, our homestead is a small, veteran-owned, single-mom-run sanctuary dedicated to regenerative gardening and holistic living. We are a Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) permaculture food forest, state-certified garden nursery, Certified Wildlife Habitat, Pollinator Pathway Certified, and a proud NC State Agritourism Site. Our mission is to cultivate harmony between humans and nature by emphasizing soil health, sustainable design, stewardship of the land, and regenerative agriculture and gardening practices. Through classes, workshops, events, and consultation services, we inspire others to embrace regenerative gardening and wellness. Whether you’re seeking plants, medicinal herbs, expert design, installation services, or just being part of a like minded community, we’re here to help you create thriving ecosystems that nourish the earth and enrich your life.

Oh, how I love fresh basil! 🌿 I was cooking dinner and asked Justin to grab some from the garden. He came back with an unholy amount! 😂 Apparently, “some basil” means “bring in a small shrub.”

I had more than enough for dinner and still have a big bowl left to put to good use. So tomorrow…we’re making pesto! YUM.

What’s your favorite thing to make with fresh basil?

A few pretty things around the farm today. 🌿 The osmanthus smells SO good! Those dainty little flowers have filled the entire front of the farm with the sweetest, honey-like floral aroma.

There are so many lovely options growing for tea right now! Tomorrow, I plan to take my time, enjoy the flowers, breathe in that beautiful scent, and slowly gather some blooms for drying.

A little peace for the moment, and a little sweetness saved for a future cup. 🫖
