Cleveland Arts Performance Ensemble

Together We Aspire; Together We Achieve Cleveland Arts Performance Ensemble started in 2010 with only sophomores and freshman.

Our marching band and winterguard had an amazing inaugural year. Since 2010, the Cleveland High School (CvHS) Band program has provided an excellent music program and learning opportunity for its students and promotes the value of the performing arts by fostering relationships amongst students, parents, and members of the community. The band is monetarily supported from fundraising through the Cle

veland High School Band Parent Association (CvHS BPA), band parents, alumni and sponsors. It is recognized as a nonprofit organization under the IRS 501(c)(3) tax code. This month Cleveland High School Marching Band is doing a calendar fundraiser!

Here’s how it works: the day of the month = the dollar amount to donate. It’s simple, fun, and adds up fast!

💙🎶 Thank You, Presnell Foundation!

Huge gratitude to the H. Clay and Wavie M. Presnell Foundation for their generous $8,464 grant to support our program! This funding will help us replace several worn‑out instruments and give our students the tools they need to keep growing and performing at their best.

Thank you for investing in our young musicians and the Cleveland community — your impact will be heard for years to come.

🎓 Countdown to Graduation

🌟 Shining the spotlight on Mattie Watkins! 🌟

Mattie has been an incredible part of the band program, playing the flute 🪈 and serving as Drum Major during her high school years.

She participated in Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, and Winter Winds.

Her favorite show/music performances were Generation Gamma and Hounds of Spring.

After graduation, Mattie plans to attend University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to study Psychology and pursue a career as a Forensic Psychologist or Specialized Psychologist.

We are so proud of Mattie’s leadership, dedication, and accomplishments and can’t wait to see all she achieves in the future! 🎓💙

✨ Today’s spotlight: Ailey Simmons ✨

Ailey has been a talented member of the band program, playing the flute throughout her high school years. 🪈

She participated in Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, and Winter Winds.

Her favorite show/music performance was Runway.

After graduation, Ailey plans to attend Johnston Community College for two years before transferring to a four-year university to pursue Forensic Science.

We are so proud of Ailey’s dedication and accomplishments and wish her the very best in this exciting next chapter! 🎓💙

Spotlight on Josh Rudisill! 🎓💙

Josh has been a proud member of the brass section playing the trumpet 🎺 throughout his high school band journey.

He has performed in Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Winter Winds, and Marching Band.

His favorite show/music was Runway. 🎶

After high school, Josh plans to pursue a career as a diesel mechanic. 🔧🚛

🎓💙 Celebrating Owen Newcomb and his senior journey! 💙🎓

Owen has been a dedicated member of the woodwinds section as a Baritone Saxophonist throughout all four years of high school.

He participated in Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Winter Winds, All-County Band, and All-County Symphonic Band.

His favorite show/music performances were Age of Aquarius and Bayou Breakdown.

After graduation, Owen plans to attend University of North Carolina at Greensboro to pursue his dream of becoming a fashion designer.

We are incredibly proud of Owen’s hard work, talent, and dedication over the years and can’t wait to see all he accomplishes in the future! 🌟🎶

After graduation, Aleyda plans to pursue her Associate of Science degree to become an Ultrasound Technician.
