A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out yesterday to our Aloha Summer Social here at The Growing Years Oleander! ☀️🌴
We had such a wonderful time spending the day with all of our amazing families and meeting so many new faces! From our fun tropical-themed activities and games to the smiles, laughter, and time spent together, it truly made for a special day.

We hope everyone had as much fun as we did, and we can’t wait to welcome our new friends back again soon! Thank you for making our Summer Social such a memorable event.

🍋🌟 Why a Bake Sale? 🌟🍋

At The Growing Years, our June theme has been Young Entrepreneurs, and our children have been learning what it means to work together, make decisions, and bring their ideas to life!

Our little entrepreneurs helped decide what treats to bake, mixed the ingredients, prepared the goodies, and even had the opportunity to help sell them. Through this hands-on experience, they learned valuable skills like teamwork, responsibility, communication, and the basics of earning money through hard work.

The best part? Every dollar raised will go directly toward child-led improvements to our playground! The children will work together to decide how to use the funds—whether it's purchasing new outdoor toys, creating an outdoor art and painting space, or bringing another creative playground idea to life.

We are so proud of our young entrepreneurs and grateful for the incredible support from our families and community. Thank you for encouraging their creativity, confidence, and big dreams! 💛🧁🍪🌞

Today, our children were amazed by a wonderful magic show filled with surprises, laughter, and excitement. From the moment the magician began, the room was filled with wide eyes, giggles, and endless smiles. ❤

Seeing the joy and wonder on our children's faces was truly priceless. These special moments of laughter, imagination, and amazement are what childhood memories are made of!

Room 9: This week we started our garden study, which will be a six-week-long unit.👩‍🌾
As we learn about gardening, we will also talk about the weather we need to help our gardens grow and the insects we might see in our gardens.
Today we made puddles while listening to rain music. 🌧 We used our imaginations while painting to the sound of rain. We imagined what the puddles would look like as they fell from the sky.

Room 2: Our little learners had so much fun exploring creativity through hands-on art activities as part of their ITERS lesson plan! The children used shaped sensory balls dipped in paint to create colorful prints and patterns, while also using dot markers to decorate their activity papers.🖌🎨

These fun activities do so much more than create beautiful artwork — they also help support important developmental skills! Rolling and gripping the sensory balls encourages fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, and strengthens small hand muscles needed for writing and self-help skills. Using dot markers helps children practice finger control, coordination, color recognition, and creativity while allowing them to express themselves independently.🎭

The children loved exploring different textures, colors, and shapes while learning through play, creativity, and sensory experiences! 🎨✨
