The paving project around the city is going a little quicker than planned. North Mitchell Canyon Road residents can expect street grinding to begin on Wednesday, August 26th. The road will be open during grinding operations. Paving is still expected to start on Thursday, August 27th, and the road will be closed during paving operations.

The City of Clayton is updating its Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) — the official roadmap that guides how we prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies like wildfires, floods, earthquakes, and more.

Join us for an informative Community Engagement Meeting as we kick off this important (and lengthy) update process.

The construction schedule for the City’s 2026 Neighborhood Rehabilitation Program has been updated as work progresses. Residents should be aware that some paving activities have shifted from the dates previously published.

Current anticipated work dates:

-Eagle Peak Road: August 24–26
-N. Mitchell Canyon Road: August 28–September 1 – brief road closure expected, residents impacted will receive additional notification with specific information.
-Herriman Drive: August 24–September 1 - brief road closure expected, residents impacted will receive additional notification with specific information.
-Mountaire Parkway: August 27–September 3
-Main Street: August 27–September 2 – The City has authorized a 5:30am start for Main Street only.
-Marsh Creek Road: August 31–September 3
-El Portal Drive: September 1–2 – brief road closure expected, residents impacted will receive additional notification with specific information.
-Project-wide finishing and closeout work: September 4–October 9

Dates are approximate and may change based on construction progress and field conditions. No-parking areas will be posted in advance, and affected residents and businesses will receive notification before work begins.

Thank you for your patience as the City continues investing in Clayton’s streets and infrastructure.
