⭐️ September FFA Recap⭐️
We had a busy and fun September!
OYE Sh***un Shoot: Cameron Deaton, Bentley Deaton, Rylan Noah, and Wyatt Hembey attended the Oklahoma Youth Expo Shooting Sports contest where they shot trap and sporting clays. There were over 400 contestants over 2 days from all over the state
Intro to Ag: In the 8th & 9th grade class we completed the FFA unit where we made cookie FFA emblems. Pam Waugh brought some piglets and taught us all about ear notching.
Read and Accurate Ag Book: We celebrated read an accurate ag book week by reading books about agriculture to three of the elementary classes.
Pushmataha County Free Fair: Emily Peterson, Josie Dewitt, C**t Dewitt, Rowdy Gardner, and Whitney Alizadeh showed their projects. Major thanks to Cameron Deaton, Bentley Deaton, Allie Jackson, and S***t Hendershot so helping show the animals and help make sure the facilities were ready!
Welding Class: Our welding class has been busy building hay rings, building barricades for the school (thanks to our sophomore class for painting them!), and welding up the pig pens after the show kids deep cleaned the barn.
And this week alone
Monday: Students attended the Haworth Opening and Closing Speaking Contest where they placed in the top 8 in their room.
Wednesday: Students practiced working cattle to prepare for our cattle handling contest in November. And after, we headed up to the Tulsa State Fair to make beds and get everything ready to haul up cattle and pigs tomorrow.
It’s been a busy month and we are just getting started!
