Let’s have an honest conversation about lesson expectations.
Everyone wants results—but results only come when everyone does their part.
As a coach, my job is to teach, explain, adjust, and give you the tools to succeed.
As a student, your job is to take those tools home and use them. One lesson doesn’t erase months—or years—of habits. Progress is built between lessons, not just during them.
As a parent, your job is to support the process and understand that improvement isn’t always instant. Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs come after weeks of doing the boring, repetitive work that isn’t exciting to watch.
One of the biggest misconceptions in our industry is expecting a trainer to perform magic in an hour. We can identify problems, explain why they’re happening, and give you a plan to fix them—but no coach can replace consistency.
The flip side is just as important. As coaches, we owe our students honesty. If something isn’t working, we’ll tell you. If your homework needs to change, we’ll tell you. If you’re improving, we’ll celebrate it. If you’re cutting corners, we’ll address it.
The best horsemen, the best riders, and the best students all have one thing in common: they trust the process enough to keep showing up and putting in the work.
