Starting the year off with something worth celebrating! 🎉

Our first Positive Office Referrals of the year are officially in! We love getting to recognize our Cougar Cubs for making great choices, showing kindness, working hard, and setting a positive example for others.

We have a feeling we’ll be seeing LOTS of students in the office for all the right reasons this year! 💙

Mrs. McCutcheon uses an engaging number sense routine called Splat to reinforce number composition. Because she knows the importance of number sense, she wasted no time getting that routine in place to set her students up for an amazing year. Students in her class felt valued and she gave them opportunities to share even if their answers were not quite right. We are happy to have Mrs. McCutcheon at Clay.

BEST. FIRST. DAY. EVER. 💙🐾

What an incredible way to kick off the 2026–2027 school year at Clay Elementary! Our Cougar Cubs filled the building with smiles, excitement, learning, and LOTS of energy today!

A few things that made our first day extra special:

💙 Happy Cougar Cubs ready for a brand-new year
🐾 Our amazing staff welcoming students back
👋 Dr. Rush came out to help greet and welcome our Cougar Cubs
☕ Ms. Chunn delivered coffee to our staff to keep everyone fueled for Day 1
🐔 Faith Community Fellowship provided Chick-fil-A for our staff
📖 Mrs. Vickers stopped by to read a story to some of our Cougar Cubs
✨ And SO many more special moments than we could ever name!

From the big moments to the little ones happening in classrooms and hallways all across our school, today was a reminder of what makes Clay Elementary such a special place.

Day 1 is officially in the books, and we couldn’t have asked for a better start to the year! 💙🐾

What an amazing night welcoming our Cougar Cubs and families back to Clay Elementary! The excitement in our halls made us even more ready for the school year ahead. 🐾✨

A HUGE thank you to Spread the Cheer for coming out and providing FREE school supplies and pizza for our families! 🎒🍕 Your generosity and support helped make an already special night even better.
