Eagle Martial Arts incorporates self defense derived from jujitsu, karate, muay thai and other forms of martial arts. Practice includes warm up drills to improve flexibility, coordination and balance. Hoshinsul (self defense) is always performed with safety in mind. Students learn to respect their training partners while gaining control and confidence. Escape and evasion is always first and foremo

st; but when self protection becomes necessary, we teach fundamentals for strikes, kicks, and pressure points. Among these skills students will also be trained in weapons disarming and ground survival. Many forms of breathing and meditation are used in martial arts to enhance physical performance, focus the mind, increase concentration and improve health. In Hapkido, one of the primary objectives of meditation and controlled breathing (Tanjun) is not only to focus the mind, but also to channel and control the circulation of Ki energy throughout the body. Learning to breathe properly helps maintain composure in high stress situations, which can also be a helpful tool in school, at home and in the work place.
