Wednesday Wisdom for Families ❤️🖤

Stay Connected. Stay Informed.

Good communication between home and school helps us support students and having accurate contact information is an important part of that connection.

This week, we’re asking families to take a few minutes to make sure you’re connected and we can reach you when needed:

📱 Check ParentSquare and make sure you’re receiving school and district messages.
☎️ Make sure your child’s school has your current phone number.
📧 Verify your email address is up to date.
👥 Review your student’s emergency contacts and update anyone who should be added or removed.
🏠 Let the school know whenever your family’s contact information changes.

Up-to-date information is especially important when there is an emergency, unexpected schedule change, transportation issue, or other time-sensitive information we need to share.

A few minutes today can make a big difference when we need to reach you tomorrow.

❤️ Wednesday Wisdom for Families: Small Steps Lead to Big Progress!

As we settle into the school year, it’s important to remember that progress looks different for every child. Some days bring big successes, while other days the win might simply be showing up, trying again, or making it through something that felt hard.

Families play such an important role in helping students build confidence and resilience. This week, try celebrating effort as much as achievement. Ask about the best part of the day, keep routines consistent, remind your child that mistakes are part of learning, and recognize those small steps forward.

Our students don’t need to have everything figured out. They need adults at home and school who believe in them, encourage them, and remind them that they can keep growing.

❤️ Small steps really do lead to BIG progress!

Thank you for being our partners. Family + School + Community = Stronger Together! 🐾❤️🖤

🎒Help Your Child Do Well in School Build the Habit of Good Attendance

Did you Know?
Too many absences in preschool and elementary school can cause children to struggle socially and academically.
Being late to school may lead to poor attendance.
Missing 10% of school (2 days each month) can make it harder to learn to read and do basic math.

Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school — and themselves. Start building this habit in preschool and through elementary school so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day, is important.

What you can do.
Set a regular bedtime and morning routine.
Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before.
Keep your child healthy and make sure your child has the required shots.
Develop backup plans for getting to school if something comes up.
Monitor your child’s absences.
Try to schedule non urgent medical appointments and extended trips when school isn’t in session.

If your child seems anxious about going to school, talk to teachers, school counselors and other parents for advice on how to make your child feel comfortable and excited about learning.

If you are concerned that your child may have a contagious illness, call your school nurse or health-care provider for advice. Ask the teacher for ideas to support missed learning time.

Give It Time

The first days of school bring BIG feelings—for kids and grown-ups!

A new school year means new teachers, new routines, new expectations, new friendships, and a whole new rhythm. Even students who are excited to be back may come home *ired, emotional, quiet, extra hungry, or a little overwhelmed.

That’s normal. ❤️

This week, families can help by:

💤 Getting back into consistent bedtime routines
🎒 Preparing backpacks and clothes the night before
💬 Asking simple questions like, *“What was one good thing about today?”*
❤️ Giving kids some downtime after school
📚 Remembering that routines take time to learn
🐾 Reassuring them that they belong and that their school is a safe place to learn, grow, and make mistakes

A little extra patience goes a long way.

Your child doesn’t need to have everything figured out during the first week—and neither do you!

We’re so glad to have our Tigers & Cougars back.
Thank you for partnering with us to make this a great year! ❤️🖤

Wednesday Wisdom:
The goal of the first few weeks isn’t perfection—it’s connection, consistency, and belonging.
