The Middle School Classroom: Rx for Success

Local friends, I have several boxes of my book for new teachers that I'm wanting to clear out. If you know any teachers in your life who are new to teaching, would benefit from a classroom management book with practical solutions, or serving as an administrator and supporting new teachers, I am parting with them for $5 each.

Kids will rise to whatever standard you hold them to. Don't lower the bar!

Look for the good in every student. It's crucial to having a positive classroom environment.

When students are aware of how assignments, rules and procedures benefit them,they'll be more willing to comply.

Providing structure is so important. For many of our students, school may be the only place they have any kind of routine or consistency.

Give compliments freely. You never know. Your kind words could make all the difference for a child.

Just delivered a shipment of books to my alma mater, to be used as a text for a class for the 3rd year! It's exciting to imagine aspiring teachers sitting the same classrooms where I once sat, holding the book in their hands. So cool.
