K-Kids Club of Kirkwood Elementary School

Our K Kids club ended the semester with a fun Christmas party! We had so much fun. I can’t wait to see what service projects they will do next semester!

Our K-Kids club along with our school’s Beta club, we went to an assisted living home for our December service project. We made Christmas cards to hand out, sang Christmas carols, and played Bingo with them. The students and residents had a great time. I am so proud of our boys and girls for showing kindness to these residents at Christmas time. The smiles on the residents faces said it all!❤️🎄

The last 2 meetings we had guest speakers talk to us about leadership and service. Thank you Mr. Ryan Worstall a police officer from Metro Nashville and Mayor Wes Golden of Montgomery County, and member of our sponsoring club, Kiwanis Club of Clarksville, TN! The students asked a lot of great questions and learned so much from both speakers.

We partnered up with the Jr BETA club and made placemats to go in the 23 boxes of canned and boxed foods our school collected for needy families in our community. The placemats turned out so cute and festive!🦃

We voted for our program chair- Brittany! I know she will be a great addition to our board!

The students completed their first service project of the year! They wanted to send some Halloween treats to the FaBOOlous admin, teachers, and staff of Kirkwood Elementary! They put together 102 goodie bags and delivered them! They had so much fun doing this and the staff was so appreciative of this! It brightened the students and staff day of a very busy week!🧡💙

We elected the rest of our officers and one committee chair. Ainsley is our vice president, Jaxon is our secretary, Max is our treasurer, and Kinsley is our service committee chair. I look forward to working with these officers and watch them grow in their leadership roles!

President Bowman Lanier attended the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville, TN Installation Banquet, shared our gratitude in chartering the club and presented President Brad Pavlik with the “K-Kids Sponsor” patch.

“I knew that I wanted to start a K-Kids Club at Kirkwood Elementary School when I attended the International Convention of Kiwanis International in Pittsburgh, PA this summer.” - Bowman Lanier. Bowman attended the Kiwanis Intenational Convention in late June with his family. He spoke about wanting to start a K-Kids club then. His father, Christopher Lanier, is a Past-President and 21 year member of the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville, TN and Lt. Governor of Division 14 of Kentucky Tennessee District of Kiwanis International. Mother, Carrie Lanier, is a faculty advisor along with Wendi Collins. Emily Lanier, sister, is President of Rossview High School Key Club. Bowman has been apart of Kiwanis activities since birth and looking forward to serving this year as President.

We were officially Chartered yesterday morning by the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville, TN. We elected Bowman Lanier as President and are looking forward to serving our community and learning about civic responsibility. Kirkwood Elementary School Kiwanis K-Kids
