🚌💚 Happy Bus Driver Appreciation Day! 💙

Today, we’re celebrating the amazing bus drivers who do so much more than get our students from Point A to Point B. Every morning and afternoon, they welcome our students with a smile, keep them safe, and help make sure they arrive at school ready to learn.

Thank you for the extra mile you travel each day and for the care you show our students along the way! We are so grateful for everything you do for our Glenellen Tortoises! 🐢🚌

Tomorrow is International Dot Day! Students are invited to wear dots or polka dots as we celebrate creativity, courage, and making your mark! At The Big G, we know even the smallest dot can be the start of something BIG!

International Dot Day is a worldwide celebration of creativity, courage, and confidence inspired by the children's book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds.
In the story, a student named Vashti believes she can't draw. Her teacher encourages her to simply “make a mark and see where it takes you.” Vashti begins with one small dot, and that tiny start eventually helps her discover confidence in herself and her creativity.

International Dot Day is celebrated each year around September 15. Schools use it to encourage students to try something new, take a risk, create, and recognize that their ideas and contributions matter.

🍪 C is for COOKIE! 🍪

Our kindergarteners had a sweet time learning the letter C. They practiced identifying the letter, making its sound, and connecting the letter to the word cookie through a fun, hands-on learning experience. ❤️

Glenellen Elementary was presented with a $2,500 Random Act of Kindness donation from Bob’s Discount Furniture! 🐢💙

Tomorrow is a Staff Development Day for our Glenellen team. Our teachers and staff will spend the day learning and collaborating.

Students do not report to school tomorrow.

We’ll see our tortoises back at The Big G on Thursday, ready for another great day of learning! 🐢

All Glenellen students and staff are invited to wear BLACK, WHITE, or both to help our kindergarteners learn, recognize, and celebrate their color words! 🖤🤍

Let’s fill Glenellen with black and white and make learning colorful! 🐢✨
