🐐✈️ One day it's goats, the next it's Greece! πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·πŸ€

Just hours after attending the Johnson County 4-H & Clarksville FFA Livestock Bootcamp, Johnson County 4-H member Aiden White is on his way to Greece as part of a University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture ACE program.

During his adventure, Aiden will learn how Greece utilizes technology in agriculture, attend a culinary school, tour the historic Acropolis, sail to the islands of Hydra, Poros, and Aegina, visit the Baker Master and CITRUS companies, and experience the rich culture, history, and agriculture of Greece.

We are proud of Aiden for taking advantage of this amazing opportunity and representing Johnson County 4-H and Arkansas 4-H on a global stage. We look forward to following his journey and hearing about all he learns along the way.

Safe travels, Aiden! We hope you have an unforgettable experience! πŸ€πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

πŸ„πŸ–πŸ‘πŸ Johnson County 4-H & Clarksville FFA Livestock Bootcamp πŸπŸ‘πŸ–πŸ„

Today, Johnson County 4-H and Clarksville FFA were proud to host a Livestock Bootcamp for area youth as they prepare for the upcoming show season. Participants had the opportunity to learn hands-on skills, improve their showmanship knowledge, and gain valuable insight into marketing themselves and their livestock projects.

Jeanie Rowbotham, Johnson County Extension Agent – 4-H, taught a session on Building Your 4-H/FFA Brand, helping youth learn how to tell their story, market their projects, write sponsor letters, and present themselves with confidence both in and out of the show ring.

A special thank you goes to Stephanie Denton for helping plan the event and providing animals for the educational sessions, and to Brittni Fales for helping plan, host, and provide animals for the workshop. Your dedication helped make this event a success!

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the industry leaders and volunteers who shared their time and expertise with our youth:

πŸ– Lance Kirkpatrick – Hogs
πŸ‘ Ashley Flickinger & Avery Malabanan – Sheep
🐐 Joseph & Madelyn Ham – Goats
πŸ„ Kyle Green & Mylee Parker – Cattle

Thank you for investing in the next generation of livestock exhibitors and agricultural leaders. Your willingness to teach and mentor youth helps them build skills, confidence, and a passion for agriculture that will last a lifetime.

Johnson County 4-H and Clarksville FFA are fortunate to have such a supportive agricultural community. We appreciate everyone who attended, taught, volunteered, and helped make today's Livestock Bootcamp a success!

πŸΎπŸ’š Johnson County 4-H Teen Leaders Give Back! πŸ’šπŸΎ

Today, the Johnson County 4-H Teen Leaders held their June meeting while giving back to our community through service at Needy Paws Animal Shelter.

Our Teen Leaders spent the day socializing cats, walking dogs, and learning more about the daily operations of an animal shelter. They also completed volunteer orientation, gaining valuable knowledge and training that will allow them to continue serving at the shelter in the future.

Community service is an important part of the 4-H program, helping youth develop leadership, citizenship, compassion, and responsibility while making a positive impact in their communities. We are proud of our Teen Leaders for taking time out of their summer to support a local organization that does so much for animals in need.

A special thank you to Needy Paws Animal Shelter for welcoming our group and providing such a meaningful hands-on service experience.
