🎉 Celebrating an Outstanding Achievement! 🎉 May 8, 2026, Elizabeth (Bethany) Rowland, a student worker in our department, was honored with the 2026 Tami Fraley Character Award by the College of STEM! 🌟

This prestigious award recognizes a student who consistently demonstrates honesty, integrity, respect, and compassion, serving as a positive role model both at Austin Peay and within the community. Each year, only one student in the College of STEM is selected for this honor by the CoSTEM Academic Assistants.

Bethany received the award from Ms. Josie Harbert, CSIT Department Administrator. Congratulations, Bethany, on this well-deserved recognition! 👏🏆

This year, Bethany graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science (Software Engineering Concentration) and was also recognized with the Outstanding Student in Computer Science Award, an honor awarded to the most outstanding graduating senior in the Computer Science program for exceptional achievement and promise in the field.

✨ Fun Fact: Excellence runs in the family! Bethany's younger brother, Austin Rowland, received the same Tami Fraley Character Award in 2024. Even more impressive, Bethany and Austin were teammates on their Capstone Project, "UrMedia," alongside Skyler Yarbrough and Dhruv Zaver. Their team presented at the Innovation Experience and earned the Professional Communication Award! 🏅

UrMedia is a website that combines all of your favorite media tracking sites into one unique platform! Users can keep track of their progress on movies, shows, games, and books by creating organized lists and customizing their profile to display their current favorites of each category!

🏆 On April 23, 2026, Jordan Weaver, Dewayne Scrivner, Mason Allen, and Jesse Pickard presented their project "Spellbook" at Innovation Experience and won the 🏆 REAL WORLD IMPACT AWARD ! 🏆Congratulations on your hard work and dedication this semester, team!

Spellbook is a website that helps Magic the Gathering players organize their card collection and compile decks! Spellbook's extensive catalog of cards makes for an easy-to-use concept deck building tool.

April 23, 2026: The Innovation Experience :: Isaac Trejo Mendoza, Jacob McPherson, Michael Obadiah Sieg, and Jeongha Park presented their Capstone Project "Blueprint" at this event.

Blueprint is a web application designed to make collaborative group projects more organized and accessible for all team members! This project is perfect for the classroom, the workplace, and for personal projects alike.

Malda is a 2-D platformer game with charming pixel graphics and challenging level design! It was a hit with student peers and the judges alike!

Pantry Chef is a mobile app designed to help users decide what to cook for dinner based on their diet preferences, their current pantry and fridge contents, and previous recipes they tried!
