Congratulations to Mrs. Hylton and Mrs. Snow on their National Board certification. Teachers who receive the National Board Certified Teachers (NBCT) licensure have demonstrated their understanding of national, rigorous teaching standards as well as their ability to implement educational practices that are research-based. This is an amazing achievement and we appreciate their commitment to excellence in educating our students.

It is time for BMI and Scoliosis screenings; these are screenings conducted on all 6th grade students. Boys and Girls will have BMI (height and weight), and GIRLS ONLY will have Scoliosis (curvature of the spine).

These screening may be declined but I will need that in writing prior to 1/22/26. You may send a handwritten note or email to [email protected].

On 1/27/26 please wear shoes that are easy to take on and off and have comfortable clothes on as well.

Homecoming week- Week of January 20th

This week, our staff celebrated the 2nd Annual Holiday Cheermeister Contest through an underground Spirit Week filled with creativity, friendly competition, and holiday cheer. The week included themed dress-up days such as Merry Movie Monday, Tree Topper Tuesday, Whoville Wednesday, Frosty Thursday, and Fleece Navidad Friday, along with a Christmas Cookie Bake-Off and a Christmas Door Decorating Contest.
Staff earned points each day as they competed for the title of 2026 Holiday Cheermeister. 🎄 Congratulations to Mrs. Helms, who claimed the title with an impressive 1,100 points!
The holiday fun continues next week as staff invite students to participate in Merry Monday Morning. Students are encouraged to wear their school-appropriate Christmas pajamas and join in the festive spirit

No semester tests will be given early without approval from the principal or principal's designee. Make-up testing will not be conducted during instructional time in the subsequent semester and may be scheduled outside of regular school hours.
