The anglers were busy this past weekend. Will and Reed Crisman finished 7th and Lliam Crisman and Cole Puryear finished 15th at the JR Bassmaster on Lake Toho in Kissimmee Florida! Will and Reed are now qualified for the 2026 National Championship.

The high school anglers were at the Richmond Fishing Expo where they received awards for the John Crew’s state points race from 2024/2025 season. Also anglers received awards for their academic standing for the last school year

It was an honor for me to accept this award last night for our boys and girls that work so hard in the Clarksville community! They put in the time on the water and off it. Helping with Lake Life Live events, Bobcats annual sale/stew, and anything else they are asked to assist with!

This past Saturday and Sunday we fished the Virginia Bass Nation Youth tournaments on Buggs Island! Our junior teams won on Saturday (Lliam Crisman and Cole Puryear) and on Sunday (Will and Reed Crisman). In the High School division Brady Terry and Graham Hall finished 3rd locking up a state championship berth. On Sunday in the High School division Ryder and Colton Milam finished in 6th locking up their state championship berth. Next event will be in April on the Chickahominy River. Thanks to all of our sponsors and parents/grandparents and boat captains for getting these kids on the water!

Tournament #1 is in the books! Buggs Island Elite had an awesome showing in the JR and High School divisions on the James River! Taking the WIN in both divisions. 3 of the HS teams are now qualified for the State Championship and 3 of the JR teams are qualified as well.

Good luck to all of our anglers today on the mighty James River!! The first state qualifier blasts off at 7:00 and weigh in starts 2:30. The few practice updates I’ve heard have been positive! Lets bring home that 🏆🏆🎣🎣

We had our monthly meeting this evening and had a good turn out. Mr Marty Stone came out and spoke with the kids for a while about one of the most important things an inspiring kid has to do/learn to become a professional angler. They all agreed you have to be really good at fishing but what they learned is they have to be really good at communicating with the public and they have to help their sponsors sell product! As Marty says they have to move the needle. The kids had a good time and learned some valuable lessons in a short time. We look forward to the upcoming season and the first tournament being right around the corner on the James River. Here’s to great 2025/2026 season with lots of hooksets and memories made. Thanks to all of our club sponsors, captains, and parents without all of them none of this is possible.

Our High School teams wrapped up competition yesterday at Clark’s Hill. Tate and Brycen finished in 55th with another 3 fish limit that weighed 8-15. Landon and Griffin had a tough tournament weighing 2 fish on Day 1 but a great achievement in making it to the Nationals. All the guys will be back fighting to make it next year. Our High School anglers are finishing up a hot practice on Clark’s Hill. They have an off day tomorrow for the meeting and to rig up for Day 1! Everyone wish them luck as they try to bring that trophy back to Clarksville!!
