Last month, Dr. Gloria Miller and business students Kendall Hayes and Dawn Spradlin represented the APSU Society for Human Resource Management at the Employee Benefits & Compensation Summit in Franklin.

The summit featured a keynote speaker, breakout sessions on industry strategies and emerging trends and ample networking opportunities with area experts.

During the Staff Service and Excellence Awards Ceremony, we celebrated colleagues who exemplify the very best of APSU.

In a time-honored ceremony hosted earlier this month, our MBA students selected faculty members to drape their academic hood over their shoulders, symbolizing the impact of faculty guidance and the successful completion of the advanced degree.

Daniela Díaz Campos moved from Cuba to the United States at 16, navigating a new world and a new language. Last week, she graduated from APSU with a job offer at a Big Four accounting firm, and along with her, proof that persistence and people can change lives.

Her story reminds us that the highlight reel often misses the tough moments that make success possible. When perfection threatened to unravel her dreams, she found the lesson in the work.

“There’s growth in every experience,” she said. “Every day, choose the better version of yourself. Decide, commit, and become it. ”And when in doubt, keep swimming.”
