APSU has two Goldwater Fellows for the second straight year, one from physics (Chris Hayes), the other from Mathematics (Kristen Knight).

MIT had one winner, Georgia Tech had one winner, Vanderbilt none, and Tennessee Tech none.

Samuel Cupp received honorable mention.

Is the Gov's School for Computational Class for the summer of 2012 interested in having a reunion in November? If so, get with your classmates to pick a Saturday to do this.

Those of you in the Summer of 2012 class, if you would like to have a reunion in the Fall, please work with your classmates to determine a time for the reunion. Dr. King, Ms. Bagwell and I will then take care of the arrangements.

Nearly $70 Million in School Programs Slated to End 02/06/2011

Governor Haslam has proposed cutting the Governor's School program in TN. If you felt you had a good experience at the Governor's School for Computational Physics, please contact your local State Representative or encourage your parents to do so.

Nearly $70 Million in School Programs Slated to End These are not just little after school pilot projects. The programs slated to lose funding include the summer Governor's Schools and the Coordinated School Health initiative*. Money would go away for paying teachers to stay late with struggling students and for hiring school resource officers.
