Friday Wrap-up incoming!

Woodlawn Elementary's September Students of the Month were all smiles!

Kindergartners at Kirkwood Elementary explored the plant life cycle by dissecting a real pumpkin and investigating its different parts, including the stem, rind, pulp, and seeds. Get us right into the Fall spirit! 🎃

Pisgah Elementary celebrated its amazing educators who are going above and beyond and making a difference every day!

What a fabulous evening of falcons and grand falcons at Cumberland Heights Elementary! Students and their families played bingo, board games, shopped at the book fair, and took photos.

At Ringgold Elementary, Ms. Aderman’s class is tired of the heat! This week, they learned all about apples and made some yummy applesauce!

At any age, using manipulatives helps students grasp numbers and concepts. At Barksdale Elementary, students paired up to sort shapes. Kirkwood Middle students used cereal and plenty of hand sanitizer to explore the real number system and sort numbers into rational and irrational categories.

Fridays are just more fun at Montgomery Central Elementary! Students in Mrs. Jenkins’ second-grade class love to read, especially on Flashlight Friday.

Moore Magnet is a STEAM-certified school and recently held its first STEAM hour of the school year!

The Montgomery County Soil & Water Conservation District and Austin Peay State University Agriculture recently hosted the 2026 District Land Judging contest, and Northwest High School FFA earned Second Place!

Schools across the district celebrated National College Colors Day, and Richview Middle School students were proud to show off their favorite universities!

Patriot Day is observed annually on September 11th

This day of remembrance can be observed with a moment of silence at 8:46 AM (EST), the time when the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center. On Patriot Day, we remember and pay tribute to those who were affected by the events of September 11, 2001, and reaffirm our commitment to the values of freedom and solidarity.

Let’s take this day to appreciate the freedom we cherish and the first responders who selflessly support us. May we continue to build a world filled with kindness, respect, and understanding.

During Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences, CMCSS families are invited to visit the Special Populations information table to meet district specialists, ask questions, and learn more about the services and supports available to students.

Representatives will include school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other Special Populations professionals. Whether you have questions about your child's learning, development, or educational services, we encourage you to stop by, connect with our team, and explore the resources available to support your child's success.
