Excited and proud to return and partner with the City of College Park, GA and work with their Customer Service Department. It's refreshing when governments invest in their people who directly impact their service delivery. When is the last time your company invested in your most priceless asset.... your people?
Is your business relational or transactional oriented? Transactional service is like a short-term fix — immediate and temporary. Although efficient, it often limits the depth of customer relationships.
Relational customer service is about understanding the underlying needs and wants of the customer for a long-term relationship that fosters loyalty, trust and powerful word-of-mouth advertising.
It’s preventative care — to nurture and grow the customer relationship through each interaction. It’s a commitment to understanding the customer not just as a number but as a human being with unique needs and preferences.
While both are needed, too often the main focus is oftentimes transactional, due to lack of training. Does your focus need shifting for long-term results?
