🏈 CCS FOOTBALL BEGINS: WELCOME COACH MO THOMPSON!

CCS is pleased to announce Coach Mo Thompson as the first coaching hire in our Football program history. Thompson is a Certified Speed, Agility, and Quickness Specialist, has coached at the middle and high school levels, and will serve as the team’s Speed and Agility Coach.

A standout at Lebanon High School, he played at East Mississippi Community College and the University of West Alabama before continuing his career professionally with the Birmingham Stallions, Norfolk Nighthawks, and Augusta Stallions.

This comes shortly after CCS announced a new partnership with APSU that will make Fortera Stadium available for Centurion home football games beginning in Fall 2027. With a home field secured and the hiring of our staff underway, the countdown is becoming very real.

CCS President Dr. Brad Moser said Thompson’s hiring marks an important step in building the program. “This is the first of a series of coaching hires we’re excited to announce as we begin putting the architecture of CCS football in place. We have lots of work to do between now and Fall 2027, and we want to do it the right way. That means building the right culture and establishing a strong foundation before we ever step onto the field. Coach Thompson is an important part of that foundation, and we’re excited to have him join the Centurion family.”

For nearly a decade, Thompson has worked with young athletes through On Top Athletics, specializing in speed, agility, quickness training, character building, collegiate preparation, and athlete exposure. His athletes include players who have gone on to Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, UCLA, Arkansas State, and the NFL.

“We want to make sure our young men are physically and mentally prepared to compete when we take the field,” said CCS Athletic Director Jason Shelton. “Coach Thompson gives us an outstanding opportunity to begin that process now. We’ll pair his speed and agility work with intentional strength training as we build our athletes and program from the ground up.”

Faith is a central aspect of Coach Thompson’s life. He and his wife live in Clarksville and are CCS parents, and he serves as a deacon at Trenton Crossing Church of Christ.

2025 TSIAA Miss Volleyball winner Kinsey Blount delivered the first serve of Clarksville Christian's 3-1 Senior Night win over United Christian Academy.

She tore her ACL in the first game of the season and got one last moment on the court with the Centurions before taking her talents to Freed-Hardeman next fall.

Twenty-five years later, we remember September 11, 2001.

We remember the lives lost, the courage of those who ran toward danger to help others, and the families forever changed. But we should also remember what happened in the days that followed, as America stood together as one.

We saw neighbors caring for one another, strangers praying together, and churches opening their doors to minister to a wounded nation. We saw flags flying proudly and boldly from homes, businesses, cars, and front porches.

Twenty-five years later, we remember not only the tragedy, but also the unity, compassion, courage, and love that followed it. We thank God for the United States of America and for the freedoms we enjoy, and pray that we never take them for granted.

May the Lord continue to bless and guide our nation and help us to love one another, care for one another, and never lose sight of what unites us. Twenty-five years later, we remember.

Today at CCS, our students and staff will wear red, white, and blue as we remember September 11, reflect on the lives forever changed that day, and give thanks for the freedoms we share.🇺🇸

Beginning this spring, Austin Peay State University and CCS are launching an exciting partnership! 🏟️

For select home games, our baseball, softball and beach volleyball teams will compete at APSU, bringing Centurion athletics to the top-tier facilities in our region.

And the biggest news of all…

🏈 FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS ARE COMING TO THE FORT!

In fall 2027, CCS will make history as the Centurions take the field at Fortera Stadium for our inaugural football program!

While we continue to move ahead with plans for a second Clarksville campus, this is an exciting bridge between where we are and where we’re headed. As we plan for tomorrow, we’re SO excited for what this athletic partnership means for our Centurions today!

🌎 From Japan to Clarksville: Building Global Connections

This week, CCS had the pleasure of welcoming Professor Maki Shinoki, who was visiting Clarksville from Japan! 🇯🇵

Maki works in the Early Childhood Education department at Kushiro Junior College and is currently pursuing her doctorate at Austin Peay State University. During her visit, she spent time touring the school, observing classrooms, and experiencing the CCS learning environment firsthand. From PK through high school, she had the opportunity to see our students and teachers in action and learn more about our approach to education.

A special thanks to Dr. Lee and Dr. Bailey from APSU’s Department of Education for helping arrange Maki’s visit. We’re grateful for the opportunity to build relationships that extend beyond our community and reach across the globe. ❤️
