Mrs Basualto’s 4th grade class practiced factor pairs by building arrays with Starburst. Students used their candy to create different arrays and discover the factor pairs for each number. Such a fun (and delicious) way to make multiplication and factors come to life! 😋

Learning math has never been so sweet! 🍎🔢

Mrs. Paul and Ms. Sanchez’s 2nd graders used Fruit Loops to build arrays and explore different ways to represent the same number. Students discovered patterns, practiced skip counting, and strengthened their multiplication foundations through hands on learning. Great job, Hawks! ❤️💛

Mrs. Basualto’s 4th grade class had a blast trying out the new LU Interactive Playground on Friday! 😊

We are so excited to have the opportunity to demo this innovative system and explore all the ways it can enhance learning at Rossview Elementary. In the future, we hope to use the LU Interactive Playground to support academic skills through interactive learning games, encourage movement and physical activity, provide engaging indoor recess options, and create exciting opportunities school wide!

🚨 Attention! PACL in progress! 🚨

Mrs. Newsome’s 4th grade readers were hard at work demonstrating mastery of describing characters using specific details from their drama!

Students worked collaboratively as they participated in a carousel activity around the room, answering questions about their characters’ feelings, actions, words, and thoughts. 🎭📚

We’re bringing reading to life and digging deeper into our characters...all while learning from one another! 💭✨

Math detectives on the case! 🔍➕✨

Students explored addition patterns and hundreds charts to deepen their understanding of how numbers are connected. They identified and explained patterns involving odd and even numbers, rows, columns, and sums while using mathematical reasoning to support their thinking. Through discussion and problem solving, students practiced explaining why patterns occur and how those patterns can help solve new challenges.

We love seeing our Hawks think critically, make connections, and grow as mathematicians every day! 🧠📚🤔

📆: Sept. 9: College Night at APSU Foy Center
CMCSS 11th and 12th-grade students and families are invited to the annual CMCSS College and Career Night. Held at the APSU Foy Center, the event gives students the opportunity to speak with representatives from colleges, technical schools, military recruiters, and more. The event will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and is FREE to attend.

📆: Sept. 10 and 24: SPED at Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences
During Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences, CMCSS families are invited to visit the Special Populations information table to meet district specialists, ask questions, and learn more about the services and supports available to students. No appointment necessary.

📆: Sept. 10 and 17: Dyslexia Screening Events
Families should pre-register for the free dyslexia screening events at www.cmcss.net/dyslexia. Reserve your child's space for the September screenings early, as spots will fill up quickly. Please note that the application is only open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, until the sessions are full.

📆: Sept. 10: Job Embedded Info Session
The District holds monthly informational meetings regarding alternative pathways to teaching. On the second Thursday of each month at 4:00 p.m., interested applicants can speak with the CMCSS team about how to use their nationally or regionally accredited bachelor’s degree to become a certified teacher. Sessions are held at Central Services Gracey (621 Gracey Ave).
