Snackin’ through history! 📚🥐
AP European History students explored the Thirty Years’ War through a station activity, working through each phase of the conflict and earning a themed snack along the way. From pudding to Danishes to croissants, each treat helped make the people, places, and events a little more memorable. Who knew the Thirty Years’ War could taste this good? 😋

It was kind of a big dill! Our Lifetime Wellness and PE classes wrapped up their Pickleball Unit this week with the Kirkwood Paddle Battle Tournament! Students put their skills to the test, competed for bragging rights, and battled it out on the court.

And what better prize for our champions than a snack pack of PICKLES?! 🥒🏆

We are so grateful to The Bridge for providing dinner for our teachers before Parent-Teacher Conferences this evening!

A busy conference night is always better with a good meal, and we appreciate Bridge Church making sure our teachers are fed, fueled, and ready to connect with our students and families. Their generosity and continued support of our school means so much!

Students in Mr. Taylor’s Anatomy class put their knowledge to work by building models of the layers of the skin using Play Doh and Wikki Stix. Using the information from their notes, students had to construct, label, and explain the different components in their models.

We love seeing our students get creative while demonstrating their understanding in meaningful ways!

Today, students in Dr. Schwertfeger’s English II class put a creative spin on literary analysis! Students created abstract paintings that visually represented the mood and tone from a passage they selected from the current text they are studying. Students were also asked to provide a written explanation connecting their artistic choices with text evidence to support their reasoning.

We loved seeing our students demonstrate understanding in creative ways while making connections between art, literature, and critical thinking!

We are ready for the annual student tailgate tomorrow evening! Thanks to BFS Insurance for sponsoring this event for our students this year!

🐍🏈 COBRA TAILGATE READY! 🌭 BFS Insurance Group’s Director of Personal Lines, Josh Medvecky, and Risk Advisor, Clifton Smith, made a pit stop at Kirkwood High School to help get the student tailgate stocked for the big game against Kenwood High School!

We brought the important stuff... hot dogs, buns, chips, and plenty of water, because you can’t cheer on the Cobras on an empty stomach! 🌭🐍 And a BIG shoutout to Kirkwood senior Ethan Fay for meeting Josh and Clifton and helping unload everything! Thanks for the muscle, Ethan! 💪👏

We love getting out in our community and supporting our local students. Now fire up the grill, fill those stands, and LET’S GO COBRAS! 🐍🏈
