Yesterday, we kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month, and we are so excited to celebrate! 🎉❤️

This month is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the cultures, traditions, languages, and heritage represented by our own faculty, staff, and students. We love getting to learn from and celebrate the people who make our school community so special! 🫶🏼

As a Spanish Immersion school, our students also get to explore the many countries and cultures connected to the Spanish language they are learning.

We’re excited to bring the joy of reading to our students with our Fall Scholastic Book Fair! 📖✨ Students will have the opportunity to shop during their Specials time.

⭐️ Star Deputy ⭐️

SRO Patterson has started the Star Deputy Program, giving our students the opportunity to be a special helper for the day! 👮‍♂️⭐️

Each day, one student from a class is chosen to join SRO Patterson as he completes his safety checks around the school. This is a wonderful way for him to get to know our students while also teaching them an important lesson: school safety is everyone’s responsibility! 🏫💙

Today’s Star Deputies were Bracken and Addison from Sra. Sandoval’s 3rd grade class! ⭐️ They got to see firsthand how we work together to help keep our school safe and secure, including the importance of never opening a door for an adult we don’t know or trust.

We are so excited to see more of our students become Star Deputies! ⭐️👮‍♂️

💙 Feature Friday! 🧡 Sra. Patterson’s 1st Grade Class

Our first graders had the BEST time bringing science to life! This week, we began our new science unit all about plants! Throughout the week, students have been learning about the different parts of a plant and how each part helps the plant live, grow, and create new plants.

As part of our learning, students used different food items to build their very own plant models and show what they have learned so far. Their excitement and smiles said it all! We love watching them learn, create, and have so much fun along the way. 💚

If your child has come home talking about a dog at school— they didn’t make it up! Over the past few weeks, our teachers and staff have not only been teaching their hearts out, but have also been rescuing and caring for stray animals that found themselves on our campus.

We are so happy to share that this dog has been captured with the help of Officer Moose, Sra. Panizzi (our token animal whisperer), Sra. Sandoval and Ms. Nilda! Thank you to everyone who has helped to make this possible!

💗 Wear Pink for Dolly! 💗

Tomorrow, we invite all our students to wear pink as we honor Dolly Parton and celebrate the incredible impact she has made on education and children’s love of reading. 📚✨

Through her Imagination Library, Dolly has helped provide millions of free books to children around the world, inspiring young readers and helping make books more accessible to families.

Let’s show our appreciation by filling our school with PINK tomorrow! 💕📖
