ESD 123 is proud to recognize Andrea Zimmermann, a paraeducator at Highland Elementary School in the Clarkston School District, as the 2026 ESD 123 Regional Classified School Employee of the Year. Through her unwavering dedication, compassion, and belief in every student's potential, Zimmermann has made a lasting difference in the lives of students, families, and colleagues.

Working in a high-needs first-grade classroom, Zimmermann approaches each day with the conviction that every student is capable of growth and independence. She provides thoughtful structure, encouragement, and individualized support while helping students build the academic, social, and emotional skills they need to succeed.

"Classified staff are the backbone of our schools, and Andrea exemplifies the extraordinary impact these professionals have on students every day," said ESD 123 Superintendent Steve McCullough.
