GPC CLACEC

More than two decades ago I had a dream of making a group of students aspiring to be engineers, and named it CLACEC (that rhimed with classic!). Yesterday I was full of gratitude at an event of CLACEC and industry partnership with Micron. Our students presented their talents and creativity thru alarm clock projects sponsored by Micron. It was just win win for CSE department at Perimeter College and the team of Micron engineers. Thank you all who made this event a memorable one for me.

Congratulations to the winners of the coding competition, Chris and Omar! We are also grateful for everyone who came out last Wednesday to test their coding skills!

CLACEC is hosting a coding competition this Wednesday, February 7, at 3 pm. Prizes are prepared for the winners. Only a limited number of teams are allowed, so sign up to participate!

Great turnout for the Fluid Dynamics lab! We have a lot more fun in store this semester, so stay tuned!

CLACEC went to the Association of Computing Machinery Conference in Gatlinburg Tennessee in November! Two of our members presented research and participated in a poster presentation as well. CLACEC members also went around and saw some other really cool posters!

CLACEC is collaborating with for an alarm clock challenge! Micron has provided us with arduino kits to make a functioning alarm clock. In these photos engineers are explaining to members the parameters of the challenge!

Here are some photos from our Lab! We made a project where the LEDs will turn on and off based on the distance of an object from the sensor. We also had an appearance of a self stopping car. So many cool things to do with ultrasonic sensors!

CLACEC members went on a field trip to Luna Innovations where we learned about the day in the life of an engineer! What an amazing experience!
