The Clarkston School Board invites community members to join them for their monthly Clarkston Coffee Chat on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Café LaTays (1485 15th Street, Clarkston). The Clarkston Coffee Chat provides an opportunity for community members to engage in informal, one-on-one conversations with school board members outside of the formal board meeting setting. Board Directors Chris Bunce and Dan Randles will be in attendance. Stop by any time between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. - no appointment necessary. Upcoming Coffee Chat date: December 18.

Ballots for the Clarkston School District's 3-year capital levy are due TODAY! They must be postmarked April 23, or be placed in a ballot drop box at Lincoln Middle School or Clarkston City Hall by 3:00 pm today.

The 3-year levy will cost property owners $1.00 per $1,000 in assessed value, and be used for critical repairs, preventative maintenance, and safety improvements that will improve educational spaces for our students. Please vote yes today and return your ballot!

Ballots for Prop 1-- a 3-year Capital Levy that would raise $5.88 million to reinvest in Clarkston's school facilities--were mailed April 5.

No foolin'! On the heels of the April 2023 CHS bond, a new group of community members has come together to advocate for reinvestment in Clarkston's schools. Members include vocal advocates for and against the April 2023 CHS bond who share the belief that our community should make targeted reinvestments in our public schools.

Stay tuned for more information about why voter support of the Clarkston School District's 3-year Capital Levy will improve student learning environments and extend the functional lifespan of our school facilities.

The Clarkston School District has established a Facilities Advisory Committee, to be comprised of a mix of community members, educators, and elected officials, to aid the CSD in prioritizing and planning reinvestment in our public school facilities. Please see below for a notice of a special Clarkston School Board meeting planned for next Tuesday, December 5. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss next steps for planning reinvestment in Clarkston High School, specifically on the topics of project cost and communication. Attendees are asked to come ready to identify and discuss solutions to these topics.

This is the beginning of community engagement to start over in planning for reinvestment in CHS. We need your help!
