After lunch today, our scholars participated in a nature walk to explore the differences between living and non-living things. Each scholar collected a rock to help compare and discuss these concepts in a hands-on way. Thanks to Mrs. Strong and Ms. Shaw for guiding this learning effort.

For Read Across America Week, our class drew inspiration from the Dr. Seuss book One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish to create our own unique story. We brought it to life through dramatization and acting, while also incorporating skills like listening and following directions.

Hooray for GHO Pre-K!

Dr. Seuss Week was a blast! Our scholars had fun with hands-on activities inspired by One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish—from sequencing with real goldfish to graphing their fish and enjoying a read-aloud. Our Pre-K teachers, Mrs. Cross and Ms. Butler even joined in with themed shirts!

To top off the week, scholars and parents teamed up for a special homework challenge: designing the most creative Dr. Seuss hat or belt. The results were nothing short of amazing! Thank you to our incredible parents for always going above and beyond.

Hooray for Pre-K‼️

This morning, our Pre-K students engaged in hands-on learning by using Connect Four during their morning meeting and center time to explore and create patterns. Through play, they discovered various ways to form patterns while fostering creativity and critical thinking. Learning is always more fun when it’s interactive! Great job GHO scholars and staff.

Before the Christmas break, Mrs. Cross and Ms. Butler’s pre-kindergarten scholars participated in a fun and engaging scavenger hunt activity. Each student searched for their personalized name, and those who found it were delighted to keep a custom Christmas stocking filled with a special gift.

We can’t wait to see our scholars again and hear all about the fun they had while they were out for the break!

They selected a holiday book, worked together to create a poster highlighting key details, and then presented it to the class. This week in social studies and science, our scholars explored how road signs keep us safe. They read about various signs, designed their own roads with safety in mind, and used toy cars to navigate their creations—following the signs just like real drivers!
