❤️💙 GHO is BUILT FOR MORE! 💙❤️

What an amazing week of learning, laughter, teamwork, and preparation at GHO! Our teachers returned ready to embrace a new school year and make THE SHIFT toward even greater things for our students! ✨

We kicked off our school-level professional development with a heartfelt and inspiring message from our Principal, reminding us of the expectations, purpose, and commitment it takes to truly be “Built for More.” Our staff also put teamwork into action with a fun and competitive team scavenger hunt! 🏃🏽‍♀️🔎😂

And because our teachers pour so much into our students, we made sure they felt appreciated, too! Each teacher was presented with a special “happy,” and we enjoyed lunch together as we prepared for the year ahead. 🎁🍽️

We also wrapped up the week with our Sneak Peek, and we were so happy to see the smiling faces of our students and families! ❤️💙 It was wonderful welcoming our Wildcats back into the building, reconnecting with our parents, and feeling the excitement for the new school year. 🐾📚

At GHO, we know that THE SHIFT starts with us. We are shifting our mindset, raising expectations, strengthening our commitment, and stepping into this school year knowing that we are BUILT FOR MORE! 🧱💪🏽

We’ve prepared. We’ve planned. We’ve learned. We’ve connected. And now… WE’RE READY FOR OUR WILDCATS! 🐾❤️💙

We are excited about what this new school year will bring, but we are even MORE excited to officially welcome our students back on MONDAY! 🎒📚✨

Before Monday, please take a few moments to review our 1st Week Need to Know information AND our UPDATED BUS ROUTES. 🚌 Please review the bus information carefully so you know your child’s route and are prepared for the first day.

These important updates will help us have a safe, smooth, and successful start to the 2026–2027 school year. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as everyone gets adjusted to new routines, transportation schedules, and dismissal procedures during the first week.

In observance of the Juneteenth Holiday, all summer programs at George H. Oliver will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026.

Programs affected:
🎡 Pre-K Summer Transition to Kindergarten
📚 Reading Roadmap
✏️ K-4th Summer School
🤝 Boys & Girls Club

We will resume all programs on Monday, June 22, 2026, at our regular scheduled times.

As we commemorate Juneteenth, we honor freedom, reflect on our history, and celebrate the progress and resilience of those who came before us.
