My name is Ann Higby; I am a teacher by trade and a cupcaker at heart. I've been teaching in elementary schools for MCPS and running a summer cupcake camp for over 5 years now. Nothing brings me more joy than inspiring children to be excited about learning and passionate about baking. Creating my cupcake camp has allowed me to find a way to do both. When children read recipes and are able to creat
e something beautiful (and delicious!) they become engaged and eager in the learning process. They learn responsibility and the importance of carefully reading directions, they learn how to add fractions, they learn to respect kitchen equipment and the space they are working in, as well as many other important skills that they will be able to use for the rest of their lives. My goal is to inspire children to always want to continue learning and find their passion with baking. Using my creativity to plan and host events and bake sweet treats for friends and family has always been my passion.
