🚨 A new law passed…so can you start doing it tomorrow? Not necessarily.
DANB’s Fall 2026 State of the States highlights several changes to dental assisting scope of practice across the country but this is where knowing the difference between legislation and implementation matters.
A law may expand scope but there can still be regulations, curriculum, training, certification, supervision requirements, or effective dates that must be in place before you’re actually permitted to perform that function.
