Sharon Chapman
NAHA Vice Presidency Statement
(Term 2027-2028)
Nominated by Current Vice President, Jennifer Pressimone
Hello! My name is Sharon Chapman, your current NAHA Director Coordinator. I am honored to stand for Vice President in the upcoming 2027-2028 term elections.
My personal journey into aromatherapy began in my early 30’s with the sudden death of my first husband. This amazing therapy held me in my time of overwhelming grief. Over the next two decades, it continued to support me through an emotionally abusive relationship and subsequent chronic health conditions. It became a part of me, not just personally, but also in my professional role as a practitioner, educator, writer, mentor, and lifelong aromatic plant student.
My professional path into aromatherapy began through clinical aromatherapy training with the Penny Price Academy of Aromatherapy in the UK in 2005. After relocating to the US, and founding Sedona Aromatics in 2007, my work has continued to evolve through education, plant studies, herbal medicine training, natural perfumery, distillation studies, writing, teaching, and mentorship.
Throughout every stage of this journey, one thing has remained constant: My belief that aromatherapy should be practiced with integrity, respect for the plants, commitment to education, and compassion for the people we serve.
Serving NAHA over the last decade has been one of the greatest honors of my professional life, and I would be deeply honored to continue serving this special community as Vice President. NAHA is not just a community, but a family to me. It is here that I have found my safe space in life.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of building meaningful relationships with directors, educators, practitioners, students, volunteers, and members around the world. Subsequently, these relationships have earned me the friendship and respect of many valued colleagues and members within the NAHA community.
