This is the part of winter where many people are experiencing the highest of levels of Winter Blues. The holidays are over, the festivities have died down, you aren’t seeing as many people, and let’s face it - it’s just cold. It’s hard to get yourself outside - and while a day on the couch is sometimes exactly what you need(!) ... don’t underestimate the power of a cold and muddy hike with conversation. The sun is still back there lighting your way and navigating the winter path might just teach you something about yourself and what you’re capable of (yes, even in the winter).

We’re all familiar with it. We become so overwhelmed with the weight of our current stress, sadness, pain, and anxiety that we forget our ability to take in the good around us. Even just an hour outside moving and talking can do wonders for how you feel.

Is it easy to walk for an hour in the snow? ❄️ No. Is it possible? 👟Absolutely.

Had some awesome slush filled walks this morning. Good reminder that many difficult things are possible when you let yourself slow down and be mindful every once in a while. You just might learn something about yourself. ☃️

The days are getting shorter!! 😱

The rushing in of cold weather combined with the earlier sunset can leave many people feeling like their days are bland and wasted. Don’t let the few brilliant hours of autumn sun go to waste! It can do wonders for your mood and outlook on the rest of the day! 🍂

If years of working with adolescents has taught me anything, it’s that this group of blossoming adults is more stressed than most of us can even imagine. It takes it’s toll - emotionally and physically. 😱
