The Diocese of Erie joins our community in mourning the heartbreaking loss of life in Erie on Friday.

Our hearts and prayers are with the families, friends and loved ones of those who died, the neighbors and community affected by this tragedy, and the first responders, law enforcement officers and all those called to serve during this difficult time.

We invite the faithful to join us in prayer for those who have lost their lives and for all who carry the grief and sorrow of this tragedy.

Our Lady of Sorrows, who knew the pain of unimaginable loss, we ask for your intercession as we lift our prayers to your Son, Jesus Christ. May those who have died rest in His eternal peace, and may His love bring comfort, strength and healing to all who mourn. Amen.

Our voices matter for Pennsylvania’s children and families!

Laura Blake, superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Erie, is encouraging our Catholic community to support a new federal tax credit program that could provide valuable educational assistance to Pennsylvania families.

Governor Josh Shapiro has an opportunity to opt Pennsylvania into the program by Dec. 31, 2026, helping expand educational opportunities for students across the Commonwealth.
