Learn how to become healthier, get healthier, and earn $50!! Interested?
The folks at the U of A Division of Agriculture are recruiting participants for our upcoming 6-week online DFEND nutrition and physical activity program funded by an USDA grant! The program includes weekly 60-minute online sessions, along with pre- and post-program nutrition, physical activity, and health surveys. Participants who complete the program will receive a $50 gift card.

Two online series will be offered beginning:
1. Friday, October 16 at 12:00 PM
2. Tuesday, October 20 at 12:00 PM

Arkansas voters can read up on the statewide ballot issues they will decide Nov. 3 by downloading the 2026 Arkansas Ballot Issues Voter Guide or picking up a printed copy at The Monroe County Cooperative Extension Service office in Clarendon.

Copies can also be picked up at the Monroe County Courthouse, Brinkley Family Pharmacy or the Folsom Memorial Library.

ServSafe Food Manager Certification Class to be offered in Helena, Arkansas Oct. 8 & 13, 2026
Both days required for first time certification.
Class will be held at the Phillips County Extension Office at 1000 Campus Dr/121 T & 1 Building, Helena.
Classes will start at 8:30 am both days.
Cost is $140 for new certifications. Cost includes book.

Fall Master Gardener Beginner Training to be offered.
Looking for a way to give back to your community and improve your flower or vegetable garden? If this sounds like you then the Monroe County Master Gardeners is the place you need to be.
As a Master Gardener you serve your community in a variety of ways, and in turn, you receive training on many aspects of horticulture while making meaningful relationships and having enriching experiences.
Anyone with horticultural skills, a willingness to learn, and a desire to help others is eligible. Sign up today for fall training and become a Monroe County Master Gardener.
Online classes start Oct 6 - Dec 11 and are at your own pace. Cost is $125
In-person Classes are Wednesday, Oct. 21, Oct 28, Nov. 4, Nov 11, and Nov 18. Cost is $100.
Registration Deadline and payment must be received by September 23, 2027.
