🎨 2026–27 PTA Reflections Program is Here! 🎭

The PTA Reflections Program gives students a national platform to express themselves and be recognized for their creativity!

This year’s theme is “What my culture means to me.” Students can submit original works in six different categories:
- Dance Choreography
- Film Production
- Literature
- Music Composition
- Photography
- Visual Arts

🗓️ Deadline: Submissions are due November 16th!

Start brainstorming today, and look out for official submission instructions coming soon.

✨ Meet Our PTA President: Samira Jimenez! 👋💙💛

We’re kicking off our Board Member Spotlight series so you can get to know the team working behind the scenes for our school community! First up is our PTA President, Samira!

Samira has two kids—one right here in our district and one at Downers Grove North High School. When it comes to our school events, she’s the mastermind making sure everything runs smoothly. She works tirelessly to balance maximum fun with top-notch safety for every single student who attends!

🇲🇽 Fun Fact: "I am the youngest of three siblings and the only daughter. I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and moved to the United States when I was 1 year old."
🎃 Favorite PTA Event: "It's hard to choose just one because our PTA does such a great job creating memorable experiences for our families, but Trunk or Treat has always been a favorite for my family."

We warmly invite you to join the Maercker D60 PTA for a special welcome event immediately following drop-off on the first day of school! Come to the cafeteria to meet and mingle with fellow parents and key members of the Maercker community.

Inside, you'll have the opportunity to meet PTA board members, greet our Superintendent Dr. Nugent and Principal Maldonado, connect with other kindergarten parents, and hear a short presentation about the Maercker PTA and how you can get involved, all while enjoying light refreshments
