The Walker Elementary PTO is an organization whose purpose is to lend our energy, time and ability to strengthen, enhance and encourage the educational, extracurricular and social environment for the students, staff and parents of Walker Elementary. The goal of the PTO is to compliment the school curriculum with supplemental opportunities for students, teachers and parents to learn, socialize, com
municate and grow. Purpose:
Align our resources with the vision and direction of the school to enrich the learning environment while empowering students, teachers and parents for success
Raise funds throughout the school year to support:
Extracurricular learning experiences such as in-school and out of school field trips and school assemblies
Fun events such as spirit lunches and after school enrichment programs
Fostering a sense of community through the buddy family program, family fun nights and Betty Crocker
Supplemental technology/materials to encourage and enhance the learning experience within the classroom
The Walker staff by providing educational materials within the classroom and recognizing and expressing our appreciation for their dedication and excellence through staff appreciation
Additionally, we:
Promote social and emotional learning development of the students and help provide an environment that is safe and accepting of all individuals through some of the many committees that we sponsor such as SELAS and Bike Safety
Encourage broad participation from Walker parents
Foster a sense of school pride
Support school/home/community communication through the Walker directory, PTOwebsite, Walker Wednesday News, Wildcat Weekly and bulletin board
