Hello, North Cedar choir families!

I can't believe that another year is upon us! There are so many exciting things planned for this year, and I am so glad you're along for the journey! This is just to let you know that I sent out an email to choir parents today, so if you did not receive that, please let me know! Also, the lesson schedule will be complete and posted by Friday morning, so please keep an eye out for an email about that. Here are the six talented students we have attending session 2 of Meistersinger All-State Camp at Wartburg College this year! They have been working VERY hard and I couldn't be more excited for this year! Huge thanks to the Wartburg College Music Department and Dr. Lee Nelson and Sarah Bouska for hosting such a wonderful camp!

Ladies and gentlemen, the wait is over! The 2026 fall musical at North Cedar will be Bright Star: School Edition!

Bright Star is a bluegrass musical written by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell that tells a sweeping story of love, redemption, and forgiveness set in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina across the 1920s and 1940s. It follows literary editor Alice Murphy, who, after meeting a young soldier returning from WWII, is forced to confront a dark secret from her past to find peace and family.

Auditions will be next week after school on May 20th and 21st! If you are an incoming 9th-12th grader and you are interested in auditioning, sign up for auditions at the link below and stop by the choir room to grab audition materials!

Late post, but the North Cedar High School Concert Choir performed at IHSMA Large Group Festival for 1A schools this past Friday, and earned a Division II rating! Congratulations to the students for all of their hard work! A congratulations goes to the high school band and their director, Jill Powers, for earning a Division I rating on the band side! Go Knights!

Hi all! Just a reminder- There is a high school band and choir concert tomorrow evening at 7pm! Choir portion will be in the auditorium, and the band portion will be in the gym. Choir students, your call time is 6:15pm in the auditorium. Thank you!
