NEW EQUIPMENT ALERT!

It’s here and in the lab! We now have a brand-new Philips digital 7000M portable X-ray unit.

This huge upgrade (formerly we had an AMX 4 unit) enhances hands-on learning and simulation opportunities, helping students build confidence and skills for real-world clinical practice. Many of our clinical partners have also recently acquired this very same unit.

This equipment is yet another valuable addition that strengthens student training and the future of our program!

Summer clinical has officially wrapped up, and it’s finally time for a well-earned break! But before Gabby & Madelynn traded scrubs for summer fun, these two made the most of every moment together. From learning and growing to sharing plenty of laughs, they’ve created memories that will last long after clinical ends. Enjoy your break you two and the class of 2027—you’ve earned it!

This means NH will maintain high educational quality statewide. The legislation helps ensure that all approved radiography programs in New Hampshire are held to nationally recognized standards (JRCERT accreditation) benefiting students, employers, patients, and the profession as a whole.

For RVCC, this legislative change reinforces what the program already strives to provide: a high-quality, nationally accredited education that prepares graduates to enter the workforce as competent, compassionate radiologic technologists.

Everyone is welcome!

Stepping back in time at the ASRT Museum & Archives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, was an incredible experience! It was a privilege to explore the history of our profession alongside a Southern Maine Community College Radiologic Technology professor while attending the ASRT Annual Meeting.

From historic x-ray equipment and vintage radiographs to fascinating artifacts that tell the story of medical imaging, every exhibit was a reminder of the innovation, dedication, and pioneers who paved the way for today’s radiologic technologists. The journey from early imaging to the advanced technology we use every day is truly remarkable. For example, did you see those lead shields?🛡️ 😂

Laura Burdick, Mike Prosalik, and David Orszagh are representing our program in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the American Society of Radiologic Technologists House of Delegates and Annual Meeting.

As participants in the Student to Leadership Development Program, these students are gaining firsthand experience in professional advocacy, governance, and leadership while networking with radiologic technology professionals from across the country.

Also pictured are New Hampshire State Delegates and Michael Cloutier, President of the New Hampshire Society of Radiologic Technologists (NHSRT), and Jessica Horton, Vice President of the NHSRT and RVCC’s Rad Tech Program Director. New England affiliate societies group photo includes (ME, NH, MA, and CT). Other fun memories from the conference are included as well.

We are incredibly proud of Laura, Mike, and Dave for representing both our program and the future of the radiologic technology profession. Experiences like these help shape tomorrow’s leaders, and we can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make.

Hugs for Wilhelmina! 🤗

Sometimes the best part of lab is the unexpected moments. Wilhelmina may be our patient simulator, but she’s definitely part of the Rad Tech family

From classroom ➡️ clinical ➡️ ARRT board examination ➡️ employment. Max recently completed his journey through RVCC’s Rad Tech program and beyond!

Your coworkers now were your Clinical Preceptor (Abby May) and your former Program Director/Professor (Jessica Horton). Watching this journey unfold is one of the most rewarding parts of radiologic technology education. We are confident working alongside you now that your patients are in excellent hands 🖐️ 💚

Simulation Lab Spotlight! 📸🦷

This week in lab, students practiced mandible X-ray positioning using a little creativity, humor, and as always-teamwork. “Mandi” was registered as the patient, while “Mike” stepped in as our mandible model 😬 during the simulation exercises!
