Global Pomona

Pomona College strives to create a global crossroads in Claremont by broadening and deepening international engagement across the campus community.

Pomona Colleges's location and its ressources will prepare you to actively address global issues in order to live and lead in the 21st century. Expand your world view and prepare for life and to work in an interconnected world with:

- 53 study abroad programs on every continents but Antartica; courses and majors in eight languages;
- New self-instructional languages instruction in Swahili and Farsi;
- Programs in International Relations, Africana Studies, Asian Studies, German Studies, Latin American Studies, Middle Eastern Studies, and Russian and Eastern European Studies
- Globally focused courses in the humanities and social sciences;
- International summer internship opportunities;
- Resource centers, research programs and initiatives at the Claremont Colleges, including the European Union Center, EnviroLab Asia, the Pacific Basin Institute, and International Place;
- The African Politics Lab, hosted by the International Relations program, allows Pomona students and the wider community to learn about Africa through guest speakers and visiting scholars;
- Co-curricular programs at the Model United Nations. Pomona College has joined the United Nations Academic Impact Initiative, established by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in 2010. This is a global network of more than 800 colleges and universities committed to the principles of the UN; in addition, constituent colleges and universities will collaborate with the UN through campus events, webcast “Global Classroom” discussions, and guest speaker engagements and conferences.
