Dear Foothill friends, families, and alumni,
I am sorry to share news of the recent peaceful passing of Eleanor Pierson at age 103. A 50-year employee of Foothill Country Day School, Mrs. Pierson was described by colleagues and community members as the heart and soul of the school. She was among Foothill’s founding families, and served as special assistant to Headmaster Howell Webb, then as co-Director of Admissions, and finally as Community Outreach Coordinator until she retired in 2015. In 2010, the Eleanor Pierson Scholarship Fund was established as part of her legacy of ensuring Foothill continued to attract and retain talented students. Mrs. Pierson was preceded in death by husband Lenn and son Forbes, and is survived by children Cynthia ‘64, Jan ‘66, and Doug ‘68. The family has requested donations be made in Mrs. Pierson’s honor to the Eleanor Pierson Scholarship Fund at Foothill Country Day School.
