We are very happy to share the news that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has reached an agreement to rescind its earlier policy directive requiring international students take in-person classes in order to study in the U.S.

Harvey Mudd values our international students highly and earlier had joined colleges and universities across the country in signing on to the American Council of Education (ACE) letter to Congress protesting the July 6 ICE guidance on international students.

Given our earlier announcement that we intend to hold in-person courses this fall if permitted to do so, we have been working with our international students daily since July 6 to find solutions for each student that provide the ability to continue to study either in the United States or in their home country. We also have informed the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) that we are planning a hybrid instruction delivery model for fall and are certifying that our curriculum will not be entirely online for the fall semester on individual I-20s.

International students are vital members of our community. The diversity of thought and experience they bring is immeasurable to us. We are thrilled with this decision allowing our international students full participation in their studies and the Mudd community this fall.
