First-Generation at Scripps Program The First-Generation@Scripps program is designed for students who are the first in their family to attend a four year college.

First-Gen guides Scripps student through their first year and beyond through exposure to faculty, resources, and workshops. The First-Generation @ Scripps program is designed for students who are the first in their family to attend a four year college. First-Gen guides Scripps students through their first year and beyond through exposure to faculty, resources, and workshops. The program also strives to make invisible issues surrounding first-generation students, faculty, and staff at Scripps. History:
The inaugural First-Generation@Scripps program was launched in Fall 2010. The three-day pre-orientation program focused on acquainting first-generation college students with resources available at Scripps. Year-Long Program
We are currently working on developing the year-long programming for the First-Generation @ Scripps students. The yearlong program will incorporate a mix of educational and social components that revolve around the following themes: transition to college, building a community, getting connected, thriving within the 5C community, and promoting self advocacy to help further establish and promote first-gen identity on the Scripps campus.
