Our 2019 students may be gone, but their research lives on.

Senior Thesis Spotlight:

"The Use of Personality Testing in Personnel Selection"
by Riya Kumar '19
Psychology

“I was once rejected from a job based off a personality test I was required to take during the hiring process. This elicited my interest in determining how companies use these tests in recruitment, and whether they are actually measuring what they intend to measure. It is important to consider that many personality tests suffer from reliability and validity issues. One major lesson I learned from writing my thesis was to never take things at face value. It is important to look at the underlying methodology of personality tests and determine which situations or job roles they should be used in.”
