Do you know what "stealthing" is? It's when a man removes a condom during s*x without the consent of their partner. I'm happy to report that California is about to become the first state in the U.S. to explicitly acknowledge stealthing as an illegal violation of consent.

We couldn't get a bill passed in California 4 years ago when the author, Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia proposed making the act of criminal violation. But Assemblywoman Garcia did not give up.

Gov. Newsom is expected to sign it into law within the next couple of weeks.

What state is going to step up next?

As some of you may know, two years ago, I co-founded SpotTheLine, a tech start-up with a mission to utilize technology for good, providing unique apps for the assessment, treatment and prevention of all forms of s*xual misconduct. Our apps provide custom action steps and empowerment tools to guide the user to move forward with confidence. Our first two apps, the Sexual Harassment Meter and the Predatory Grooming Meter, will be released later this year.

Today, I am excited to announce the launching of The SpotTheLine Podcast. The podcast is co-hosted by me and the delightful Joelle Casteix, another member of the SpotTheLine team. We take a user-friendly and thought-provoking deep dive into the tough topics dominating the headlines. It’s our mission to have open conversations about s*xual harassment, s*xual assault, child s*xual abuse and cover-up … and of course, prevention.
