π WAR-MAKING AS WORLDMAKING
Join us for a powerful talk with Samar Al-Bulushi, Associate Professor of Anthropology at UC Irvine.
This lecture examines how militarism, imperialism, and policing shape everyday life in Kenya in the wake of the U.S.-led War on Terror. Drawing on ethnographic research in Nairobi and Mombasa, Al-Bulushi explores how Kenyan Muslim activists navigate loss, surveillance, and state violenceβand what it means to remake a world shaped by imperial warfare.
