A networking event hosted by the Q***r Resource Center of The Claremont Colleges that was previously “a closed event for black q***r, trans, & inters*x students, staff and faculty” is now one that “centers [around] black q***r, trans, and inters*x students, staff, and faculty at the 7Cs [Claremont University Consortium]. All allies are welcome,” according to its Facebook description.
The Q***r Resource Center of The Claremont Colleges, whose previous director was fired after his anti-white tweets surfaced, is hosting a networking event in which non-black students are explicitly prohibited from attending. This event could be a violation of Federal anti-discrimination regulations.

In honor of National Coming Out Day, the Q***r Resource Center of The Claremont Colleges hosted an open mic night at The Motley Coffeehouse on Oct. 12. The open mic featured a wide array of performances, from an acoustic duet cover of “Corduroy Dreams,” originally by Rex Orange County, to inspiring poems about body image and the LGBTQIA+ experience to stand-up comedy.

The QRC is happy to announce the arrival of Trans Pool Hours at CMC's Axelrood Pool! From 11AM-12PM on Sundays, trans, nonbinary, genderq***r, gender-nonconforming, and/or questioning 5Cs students are invited to kick back and cool off in a safe, q***r body-affirming environment. Spread the love!

About the QRC

The Q***r Resource Center (QRC) of the Claremont Colleges empowers q***r and trans students at the 7C’s to have positive, identity-affirming college experiences. We strive towards this goal by creating a welcoming physical space, hosting meaningful events, and providing important programs, services, and support. We seek to cultivate a safe and inclusive campus by educating and engaging the 7C community through academic, personal, and professional development.

Join us at our events throughout the school year or get involved in our Q***r & Questioning Mentor Program (QQMP)! We also welcome you into our physical space, located in Walton Commons (395 E. 6th St.), where you can relax or study in the lounge, use the kitchen, browse the clothing closet and library, and use the gender-inclusive restrooms.

The QRC is open 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday. Ask us about completing a swipe access agreement to get 24/7 access to the space. We hope to see you soon!
