In honor of America Recycles Day, we're sharing what NOT to recycle. Contaminants, including oil and food on soiled paper, might result in a whole batch of recycling being sent to the landfill.

College students shouldn’t go hungry! Sodexo partners with national nonprofit Swipe Out Hunger to help food-insecure students on college campuses nationwide. The program allows students to donate meals to a “swipe bank.” For every meal plan purchased on our campuses, Sodexo also donates two meal swipes to the bank. The donated swipes are then allocated to the ID cards of students in need. It’s all anonymous to eliminate the stigma often associated with hunger.

The program is just one way Sodexo is working to fulfill our commitment to serve our communities and feed hungry people.
Since 2020, we’ve provided more than 7,000 meals to 1,100+ students across 50+ campuses. And we’re just getting started.
Donating meals is a great way to make a small change that has a huge impact!

One of the many reasons diets don’t work is because they prioritize fullness over satisfaction. Developing a positive relationship with food requires us to prioritize BOTH fullness and satisfaction when making meal choices.

Americans waste up to 40% of the food supply every year, causing environmental damage, hunger, and supply chain issues. Food waste is one of the top contributors to harmful greenhouse gas emissions.

Sodexo is fighting food waste and loss on college campuses with WasteWatch powered by Leanpath. This system allows us to track, measure, and reduce waste, helping us reach our goal to cut food waste by 50% and reduce carbon emissions by 34% by 2025.

Small changes = huge impacts!

This month we'll explore the concept of ‘gentle nutrition’ hierarchy of nutrition needs which helps us learn to make food choices that honor our health and taste buds while making us feel good!
